Are you afraid of Changes in your Life?

We like it when there has been no change around for a while in this  gift of life . At some point in time, we get used to how we live, and that's the evident and obvious reason for why we don't like change. But the reasons also run deeper than that. We also fear the new because of the ambiguity it brings. For some, though, change is a  new beginning ,  a fresh start.    Neuroscience research teaches   us that doubt registers in our brain much like mistakes and inaccuracies do. It has to be corrected before we can feel at ease again, so we'd rather not have that hanging in the air if we can avoid it. We also dread change because we fear that we might lose what's linked with that change. Our hatred of loss can even cause logic to dash out the window. This is why the study shows that gamblers at a horse track who are having a day of loss are most likely to gamble on the long shots, at terrible odds, on the very last race of the day. They're faced with the ...

Seeking Truths of Life

There are something that will always remain a mystery. There is so much that we don’t know about this world. For example, what was it like before the big bang? How big is the universe or is it endless? What happened before there were no living beings? While scientists are still working on the unknown, it will take a lot more time or maybe we will never find the truth. Things   about God ,  the journey after death, and before existence is unknown. We all have the curiosity of a cat and want to  self-help   to know about certain things.  What do we know? Life is the piece of existence that processes evaluate, acts, reacts, and evolves through growth (reproduction and metabolism), through  a new beginning . The key difference between life and non-life (or non-living things) is that life uses a force, energy, for physical and conscious development. Life is everything that grows and eventually dies, i.e., ceases to flourish and be cognizant.   ...

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregat...

How to Make a Better World?

Helen Keller once said, "I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and just because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." Here are some ways to create the necessary  changes .  Identify the humanity of other people and respect their dignity   Knowingly, realize that the destitute man you pass on the street every day is, in fact, a human. Through choices of his own or situations out of his control, he ended up in these circumstances, and that makes him no less human. Warmly greet him and say hello. Your greeting could bring  love   and  happiness  feelings to his heart, and help heal the world one person at a time. Treat citizens as equals, no matter how you construe their social standing.    Conserve water   The amount of water we use is unbelievable. Taking long showers and letting the tap run as you brush your teeth are luxuries that ...

Understanding the Notion of Common Good

Have you ever wondered why common good is important for a certain new beginning ? Let’s start with the basic definition of “ common good ”. As a philosophical idea, the common good is best understood as part of a surrounding model for practical and realistic reasoning between the members of a political community. The common good is a significant notion in political philosophy since it plays a central role in philosophical expression about the public and private dimensions of public life. The happiness , future , love is connected to common good. In normal political discourse, the “common good” refers to those facilities—whether cultural, material, or institutional—that the members of a society or community give to all members to fulfill a relational duty they all have to be concerned for certain interests that they have in common. Some examples include liberal democracy for road systems, safety, and security of the society, transportation system, etc.  Applying it in...

The World after Coronavirus- It’s a New Beginning

We all know how this worldwide pandemic changed lives for many. For some, it’s been a roller coaster ride, for others, not so much. But we can safely say that it has changed everyone’s life- from a toddler to the elderly people, it has brought many life-altering   changes .    The Negative aspects   While many have the money for food, shelter, medicines, equipment, the internet, the basics to live a comfortable life, most of the population doesn’t have it. They are struggling for information, cannot afford certain basic things, have lost their jobs, and are ignored by the filthy rich. It may not sound good, but this is reality. For many, this is a very hard time mentally too. People staying under one roof have lost  happiness ,  a   stable   future ,  even  Love .    There are rising cases of alcohol abuse, domestic violence, divorces, depression, and anxiety. There is frustration, miscommunication amongst the house...

Changing Perspectives for the Common Good

There are so many incidents in life that change our perspective now and then. Some of us are rigid to just one opinion while others are open to many possibilities. This is the real  gift of life   that makes us who we are. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it doesn’t harm to know other's ideas and possibilities. What is  Emotional Intelligence ?  According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is “the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically”. Now, this is important to have good relationships with others and understand them better. This is also helpful to see their perspective on life. Emotional intelligence is important for leadership. And if you are the leader, you need to have an open mind to other’s viewpoints.  How does changing perspective help? It helps in a better understanding Being open to several viewpoints helps open doors to so many stor...

Little Things- Finding a Positive Perspective towards Life

You have two choices- become a cynic or see the brighter side of everything. The first comes with its own share of burdens in your life. If you are ready to accept and embrace it genuinely, then we are with you. But why is it always important to take the hard road? You can look for  happiness ,  a lovely  future ,  pure   Love ,  and a   better world   in a fine little ways.  Be observant   To find positivity in every aspect of life, this is the number one rule. You have got to be the person who observes more. Look out for changing patterns, colors, clouds, leaves, someone’s smile, behavior. Feel the taste of the food, a person’s touch, smell that smoked pizza. This helps in being in the present too- the  Power of Now .   For example- If you see a beggar on the road smiling away, think about how it might have happened and how these things make for a lovely life in a bigger picture. An elderly may give you blessings ...
