Seeking Truths of Life

There are something that will always remain a mystery. There is so much that we don’t know about this world. For example, what was it like before the big bang? How big is the universe or is it endless? What happened before there were no living beings? While scientists are still working on the unknown, it will take a lot more time or maybe we will never find the truth. Things about Godthe journey after death, and before existence is unknown. We all have the curiosity of a cat and want to self-help to know about certain things.

What do we know?

Life is the piece of existence that processes evaluate, acts, reacts, and evolves through growth (reproduction and metabolism), through a new beginning. The key difference between life and non-life (or non-living things) is that life uses a force, energy, for physical and conscious development. Life is everything that grows and eventually dies, i.e., ceases to flourish and be cognizant.

So, can we say that viruses, for instance, are cognizant? Yes, insofar as they react to the stimulus; but they are alive fundamentally because they reproduce and grow. Computers are non-living for the reason that even though they can cognize, they do not expand biologically (grow), and cannot create offspring. It is not cognition that establishes life, then: it is rather production and maturation towards a state of death; and death happens only to living substances.

Questions like ‘what is the meaning (purpose) of life?’ among others to explore

It can be about positively doing common good. There are, of course, many intuitively clear examples of Doing Good: by retrieving a crying baby from a dumpster; or by trying to save somebody who’s drowning. Most of us would keep away from murdering; and most of us would avoid doing some acts that we find instinctively wrong. Going on a spiritual journey o find out the truth may seem a likely way.

Life in the pandemic

The pandemic has put a lot of things into perspective. People are learning the value of time, relationships, and life beyond materialistic things. They are starting to believe in the power of nowMany are frustrated as well as there is uncertainty all around. There is a weird sense of darkness about living and earning. Emotional intelligence and patience are tested.

Everyone has a different version of their truth. It may take a whole life or just one incident.

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregat...

Changing Perspectives for the Common Good

There are so many incidents in life that change our perspective now and then. Some of us are rigid to just one opinion while others are open to many possibilities. This is the real  gift of life   that makes us who we are. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it doesn’t harm to know other's ideas and possibilities. What is  Emotional Intelligence ?  According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is “the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically”. Now, this is important to have good relationships with others and understand them better. This is also helpful to see their perspective on life. Emotional intelligence is important for leadership. And if you are the leader, you need to have an open mind to other’s viewpoints.  How does changing perspective help? It helps in a better understanding Being open to several viewpoints helps open doors to so many stor...

Can being “Positive” feel Forced?

We are in a world where there is a lot of negativity. Staying positive is the new trend. As much as it sounds good, sometimes it may feel forced. The very pressure of staying positive becomes a bit much when it isn’t like that in their real world. There is this one  gift of life   where one should feel just as they do, instead of what others want them to.  What is forced or toxic positivity?   Forced positivity is the thought that people dealing with a disease need to continually portray themselves in an optimistic mood or light, and that thinking “on the bright side” will help with the hurt. This is awfully common on social media where people are anticipated to only show the good side of their lives.   The term 'toxic positivity' refers to the idea that focusing on the alleged positive emotions and reject anything that may activate negative emotions is the right way to live a life.    The pressured feeling   This kind of feeli...
