How to Make a Better World?

Helen Keller once said, "I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and just because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." Here are some ways to create the necessary changes

Identify the humanity of other people and respect their dignity

Knowingly, realize that the destitute man you pass on the street every day is, in fact, a human. Through choices of his own or situations out of his control, he ended up in these circumstances, and that makes him no less human. Warmly greet him and say hello. Your greeting could bring love and happiness feelings to his heart, and help heal the world one person at a time. Treat citizens as equals, no matter how you construe their social standing.

Conserve water

The amount of water we use is unbelievable. Taking long showers and letting the tap run as you brush your teeth are luxuries that negatively impact our world. Try to limit your water use. Try to beat that time the next time you turn on the tap. This is for a better future for those who cannot afford to use water.

Be generous

It's easy to be self-centered with your money, time, and resources by getting caught up in our material-driven expectations of the society. Try being kind and see how your life changes. A small act of generosity does wonders. Buy tea for the person behind you in line, read to children in the local library, or simply stop and pay attention to the answer when you ask a friend how they're doing. Chances are that your generosity will strengthen you, and you'll feel less weak about how to make the world a better place. It may feel like a new beginning.

Use less paper and electricity

Our forests are being cut down at a shocking rate and to add to that the natural calamities that pull them down. Protect the trees by conserving paper. Send an electronic mail instead of a letter, type directions into your mobile phone instead of writing it down, and bring your jute shopping bags to the store.

These acts are like seeing the kind, self-help for you indirectly. These are needed in times of pandemic and war today. Everyone is scared and the power of nowkindness, and donation will help change the world.

Having Grit and Exploring Spiritual Feelings

Resilience is bouncing back from any hardships that any person may face in life, coming back stronger, mentally, and physically from that hardship and moving on to make a more meaningful life. Grit refers to the willpower that an individual shows in pursuing his long-term goals. For any person to demonstrate resilience and high grit, he should have a  positive   orientation in life with profound values and purpose through which they attain meaning in life. It can be assumed that if the level of mysticism/spirituality would below, there will be low grit as well as low resilience observed.  Spirituality is a private belief that acts as a sieve through which an individual perceives and understands the world. It influences how they live, how they react to stressful situations, how well, and how speedily he recovers from moving strain. It gives a sense of meaning to this  gift of life  and may or may not contain belief in higher divine supremacy. People with a sp...

What are the odds?

What are the odds that we were born on this planet? What are the odds that there is life beyond this galaxy? What are the odds of getting the coronavirus again even after the vaccine is made? There are questions that we all crave answers for. While some will answer what you want to hear, the  positive , others will be objectively answering it. Biomedical research habitually focuses on the discovery of relationships (associations) between variables (phenomena or attributes). It is significant to note that association may or may not signify a causal relationship. This depends on numerous factors.    This is the  gift of life   that everyone needs to accept no matter what the answers. You are here and will be here for as long as your life permits.    Coincidence or accident?   Many believe in serendipity, signs, telepathy, things that are beyond our explanation. Some believe in the  power of now .  it is said that there is a w...

What is a Meaningful Life?

Some people seem to spend their whole lives disgruntled, in search of a reason, a  positive   purpose. Philosopher Iddo Landau advocates that all of us have everything we need for a significantly meaningful existence. A meaningful life is one in which there are enough aspects of adequate value, and pointless life is one in which there is not a satisfactory number of aspects of sufficient value.  Simplicity    For a life to be precious, or important, it needn’t have to be unique. Believing that specialness is tied to meaning is another error many people make. This mistaken belief leads some people to unreasonably see their lives as inadequately meaningful and to miss ways of enhancing meaning in life. They forget the  power of now   and this  gift of life .    We move, we meet new kind people, have fresh experiences, bump into new ideas, and age. As we change, our values alter, and so does our sense of purpose in life, which w...
