Depression
has affected more than 264 million people— yet it can be tough for some people
who live with it to find the resources they want. Whether it’s a safe space to
share your feelings anonymously, useful self-care methods, or the latest in
mental health research, you should know that you aren’t alone. It’s a better world when everyone is in it together, fighting away.
Your
happiness depends on your mental health. No amount of material gains will
satiate it. Money is a temporary object for fulfilling happiness, but real
mental health is finding contentment within no matter what the circumstances
stand. Your future and your past are not there, the
only thing is the present.
Eradicating
mental health issues such as anxiety and depression would raise happiness by
20%, whereas eliminating poverty would boost happiness quotient by only 5%. In
other words, handling your mental health problems would be four times more
helpful at increasing happiness than dropping the poverty line. And the best
part is that reducing mental illness doesn't have to cost a penny and creates
a better world.
Make
happiness a priority
According
to Layard's Origins of Happiness report aims to transform how the government
thinks about human priorities, and to push them to prioritize happiness and
well being as a measure of a country's achievement, rather than economic
factors.
Norway
was just ranked as the happiest country in the World Happiness Report 2017.
Norway took the top spot, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Finland, The
Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Sweden. This surely is a mark
for making changes and rooting for new beginnings.
You are
mentally healthy if you take pleasure in being with most of the people you
know, particularly with the important people in your life, such as your close
family and friends. Usually, you are happy around them and are more than eager
to help a miserable family friend, member, or colleague to feel good. You lead
a mostly laugh a lot, have a stress-free life, and hardly ever undergo from the
aches and pains that so many people recognize as an inevitable part of
living.
Today, the world is fighting a big pandemic. We need more people who are physically and mentally healthy. There is so much love everywhere; all we need to do is look for it. One can go for self-help or just ask another, share their feelings. Sometimes that’s happiness.
