Can being “Positive” feel Forced?

We are in a world where there is a lot of negativity. Staying positive is the new trend. As much as it sounds good, sometimes it may feel forced. The very pressure of staying positive becomes a bit much when it isn’t like that in their real world. There is this one gift of life where one should feel just as they do, instead of what others want them to.

What is forced or toxic positivity?

Forced positivity is the thought that people dealing with a disease need to continually portray themselves in an optimistic mood or light, and that thinking “on the bright side” will help with the hurt. This is awfully common on social media where people are anticipated to only show the good side of their lives.

The term 'toxic positivity' refers to the idea that focusing on the alleged positive emotions and reject anything that may activate negative emotions is the right way to live a life.

The pressured feeling

This kind of feeling also depends on person to person. But for many, it’s turning out to be a false notion. When others are telling you to believe in the power of nowit sometimes backfires on the person. They are going through so much, that it may not be applicable.

How to deal with it?

While it is the common way to deal with situations, by seeing the brighter side of every situation, sometimes feeling the way you do is the best. It is a way to vent out. They are real feelings that one should acknowledge rather than having forced, maybe, a delusional, concept. The emotional intelligence is too rightfully being angry for a while, if you must and then take actions- whether you feel positive or negative. The point is not to sit on it and take action.

There is a common good in positivity. Studies have shown that people do improve if you think like that. Our brain is constantly observing the emotional tone of your thoughts—too many pessimistic thoughts and your brain react by creating stress and grief in your body. When you add more optimistic thoughts, your brain will produce relaxation and happiness.

A spiritual being is having to live with however you feel. If something is forced on you, it is not the kind of living one wants. And it goes the same goes for your emotional state. They are the most natural thing that makes us who we are.

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregat...

The World after Coronavirus- It’s a New Beginning

But we can safely say that it has changed everyone’s life- from a toddler to the elderly people, it has brought many life-altering   changes .    The Negative aspects   While many have the money for food, shelter, medicines, equipment, the internet, the basics to live a comfortable life, most of the population doesn’t have it. They are struggling for information, cannot afford certain basic things, have lost their jobs, and are ignored by the filthy rich. It may not sound good, but this is reality. For many, this is a very hard time mentally too. People staying under one roof have lost  happiness ,  a   stable   future ,  even  Love .    There are rising cases of alcohol abuse, domestic violence, divorces, depression, and anxiety. There is frustration, miscommunication amongst the house...

Little Things- Finding a Positive Perspective towards Life

You have two choices- become a cynic or see the brighter side of everything. The first comes with its own share of burdens in your life. If you are ready to accept and embrace it genuinely, then we are with you. But why is it always important to take the hard road? You can look for  happiness ,  a lovely  future ,  pure   Love ,  and a   better world   in a fine little ways.  Be observant   To find positivity in every aspect of life, this is the number one rule. You have got to be the person who observes more. Look out for changing patterns, colors, clouds, leaves, someone’s smile, behavior. Feel the taste of the food, a person’s touch, smell that smoked pizza. This helps in being in the present too- the  Power of Now .   For example- If you see a beggar on the road smiling away, think about how it might have happened and how these things make for a lovely life in a bigger picture. An elderly may give you blessings ...
