Including Love and Compassion in times of a Pandemic

Whether there is a pandemic or not, in today’s world we need to have a lot of compassion for others. This virus has opened up a lot of eyes to a new way of thinking. There have been huge changes, and there is a hint of a new beginning of some sort.

The affects of showing love and compassion

Firstly we need to carry such action with a genuine heart. There shouldn’t be an ulterior motive for the care you give. Yes, it is easy to write but you need to spread happiness unconditionally today.

  • The person doesn’t feel alone- Lot of people right now feel that it is the end and no one is there for them. If you can help them be themselves and listen, it will do a great deal of goodness. Let them know that they are together in this fight which will make them feel like there is a better world
  • Gains confidence- You need to let them know that nothing is permanent and that includes this time. Show them how to fight with little steps. Show them that the future isn’t bleak. Tell them stories about winners, failures who have stood up again. Tell them to take their time to get up and be them. A positive attitude should lift their spirit.
  • Starts feeling worthy- If you include them in small chores, it will make them feel helpful and worthy. This is very important. People, especially those who suffer from depression feel they are worthless. Emotional Intelligence is low. Since they are in their negative world, this will also distract their mind from thinking so. There was always a place for violence, hatred, and repulsion in this world. There is war, protests, murders, rapes going on everywhere. The only new thing that adds on to it is this pandemic. People as it is feared this gift of life that the pandemic showed up to increase it even more.

The world needs to know about the power of nowbelief in new possibilities. But that is only possible if they believe in themselves. A loved one can only help up to a certain extend with love and compassion. Unless the receiver doesn’t reciprocate, absorb the action and take it into their stride, it doesn’t help. Just like Self-help books, pictures and documentaries will only help someone if they apply it.

There is a common good in love and compassion. Spirituality is also one among others to explore for betterment.

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregating the public between corona affected and n

Can being “Positive” feel Forced?

We are in a world where there is a lot of negativity. Staying positive is the new trend. As much as it sounds good, sometimes it may feel forced. The very pressure of staying positive becomes a bit much when it isn’t like that in their real world. There is this one  gift of life   where one should feel just as they do, instead of what others want them to.  What is forced or toxic positivity?   Forced positivity is the thought that people dealing with a disease need to continually portray themselves in an optimistic mood or light, and that thinking “on the bright side” will help with the hurt. This is awfully common on social media where people are anticipated to only show the good side of their lives.   The term 'toxic positivity' refers to the idea that focusing on the alleged positive emotions and reject anything that may activate negative emotions is the right way to live a life.    The pressured feeling   This kind of feeling also depends on person to pe

Happiness and your Mental Health

Depression has affected more than 264 million people— yet it can be tough for some people who live with it to find the resources they want. Whether it’s a safe space to share your feelings anonymously, useful self-care methods, or the latest in mental health research, you should know that you aren’t alone. It’s a  better world  when everyone is in it together, fighting away.  Your happiness depends on your mental health. No amount of material gains will satiate it. Money is a temporary object for fulfilling happiness, but real mental health is finding contentment within no matter what the circumstances stand. Your  future   and your past are not there, the only thing is the present.  Eradicating mental health issues such as anxiety and depression would raise happiness by 20%, whereas eliminating poverty would boost happiness quotient by only 5%. In other words, handling your mental health problems would be four times more helpful at increasing happiness than dropping the poverty
