Having Grit and Exploring Spiritual Feelings

Resilience is bouncing back from any hardships that any person may face in life, coming back stronger, mentally, and physically from that hardship and moving on to make a more meaningful life. Grit refers to the willpower that an individual shows in pursuing his long-term goals. For any person to demonstrate resilience and high grit, he should have a positive orientation in life with profound values and purpose through which they attain meaning in life. It can be assumed that if the level of mysticism/spirituality would below, there will be low grit as well as low resilience observed.

Spirituality is a private belief that acts as a sieve through which an individual perceives and understands the world. It influences how they live, how they react to stressful situations, how well, and how speedily he recovers from moving strain. It gives a sense of meaning to this gift of life and may or may not contain belief in higher divine supremacy. People with a spiritual direction may view a diversity of life’s areas as sacred and, thus, look for help when they feel that their emotional and physical well-being is threatened.

People with spiritual preferences live with the belief of the power of now, reason, and the gleam of hope from that faith even in adverse circumstances. Spiritual achievement, aspiring to each the hoy as a goal of life, has been found to associate highest with well-being in comparison to other forms of determination. Spiritual striving can progress a sense of self emotional intelligence, and relationships and makes a connection to the transcendent.

Individual Journeys vary

Each person has an inborn self-righting tendency- a capability for resilience – and this capacity is linked to one’s true spiritual nature. Howell (2013) asserts spiritual people to be compassionate, optimistic, having higher, self-actualized, self-esteem, and take time to contemplate on their activities correlating with positive emotions with small joys.

An unexpected blow in personal life like the death of a loved one, a crippling accident, a life-changing illness, loss of a job, change of school, change of city something we can’t avoid. Everybody faces some circumstances in his or her life that can cause sorrow. These events may not be life-threatening but do cause emotional suffering which affects one’s own life as well as that of those around him, associated with him.

But still, there is the common good, among others to explore after such pain.

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregating the public between corona affected and n

Can being “Positive” feel Forced?

We are in a world where there is a lot of negativity. Staying positive is the new trend. As much as it sounds good, sometimes it may feel forced. The very pressure of staying positive becomes a bit much when it isn’t like that in their real world. There is this one  gift of life   where one should feel just as they do, instead of what others want them to.  What is forced or toxic positivity?   Forced positivity is the thought that people dealing with a disease need to continually portray themselves in an optimistic mood or light, and that thinking “on the bright side” will help with the hurt. This is awfully common on social media where people are anticipated to only show the good side of their lives.   The term 'toxic positivity' refers to the idea that focusing on the alleged positive emotions and reject anything that may activate negative emotions is the right way to live a life.    The pressured feeling   This kind of feeling also depends on person to pe

Happiness and your Mental Health

Depression has affected more than 264 million people— yet it can be tough for some people who live with it to find the resources they want. Whether it’s a safe space to share your feelings anonymously, useful self-care methods, or the latest in mental health research, you should know that you aren’t alone. It’s a  better world  when everyone is in it together, fighting away.  Your happiness depends on your mental health. No amount of material gains will satiate it. Money is a temporary object for fulfilling happiness, but real mental health is finding contentment within no matter what the circumstances stand. Your  future   and your past are not there, the only thing is the present.  Eradicating mental health issues such as anxiety and depression would raise happiness by 20%, whereas eliminating poverty would boost happiness quotient by only 5%. In other words, handling your mental health problems would be four times more helpful at increasing happiness than dropping the poverty
