Books And Blogs To Nourish Your Soul And Have A Better World

There is so much that life has to offer at every path. For those who seek to know the little intricacies of life, they always have to look inwards. The introspection is much enquired in today’s age of fast and furious existence. One may think to gather self –help books, read blogs on Future, Love, Changes, New beginning, Power of Now, and positivity. If they do not have people to guide them

How does reading help?

·         Reading about different topics and different genres help create an improved thought process. They inculcate the habit of questioning things of life. They enable us to go deeper into the world of imagination.

·         Focused mind- Apart from the above, reading helps increase the span of attention. The mind is focused on one thing which improves concentration power. It is irrelevant to what kind of books one reads, as long as they are reading with interest and attention.

·         Learning- Reading means learning about the author as well. You know about their mind, you know about their style of writing, expressing and putting them in sequence. Isn’t it fascinating to read something written by someone you don’t even know, but they still touch your life in a particular way?

·         Open-mindedness- This is the biggest advantage of reading. Whether you read fiction or non-fiction, it opens doors to numerous creative ideas, questions, and even may answer a few things… “See With the Mind’s Eye”

Happiness

It is a term we throw about without much consideration these days. We think everyone is happy but we rarely go deeper.

We all expect to be happy and be alive, live a ‘good life’ but, do you wonder, what does it mean?

The basic role of ours is to ask questions and think about our nature as humans. The thought and this universe work together. Thus, a discussion of the philosophy of happiness in life can be seen as an assessment of the very nature of happiness and what it means for the universe that has all of us.

Guidance

We have people who can give us a lot of guidance on such matters. There are our friends, relatives, or even strangers who manage to give proper advice.

And then some books and blogs open our eyes in certain ways. It affects us in many ways. The more we read the more we understand about a different perspective. There are so many books on religion, philosophy, and spirituality that can give us the knowledge to sustain.

Topics of the common good, Gift of life, and spiritual needs can be looked upon among others to explore.

A lot depends on an individual’s perceptions too. How they process information is a matter of thinking too. A person may only read about religion and become rigid, whereas another person reading the same book may have a different take on it.

Where is the Love?

There is a song called “Where’s the Love” by Black Eyed Peas. It has profound lyrics about the deprived state of the world. The words concentrated on death, children, asking questions about the abysmal world, killings, and terrorism, discrimination, justice, and corruption. At one point, the lyrics even tell you to take control of the mind in the world of change and insanity all around. It talks about the real side of the world- the media, racism, money, etc. Why are we talking about the song? It’s because the lyrics still apply for today. Today people are worried about the  future   even more.    Crisis and compassion   Owing to so many problems deeper than what it looks like, the search for   happiness   is even more! There is the Pandemic which has created fear of a different kind for the current generation. Exceptional  changes   need to take place, especially in terms of compassion. People are becoming easily selfish and segregating the public between corona affected and n

Can being “Positive” feel Forced?

We are in a world where there is a lot of negativity. Staying positive is the new trend. As much as it sounds good, sometimes it may feel forced. The very pressure of staying positive becomes a bit much when it isn’t like that in their real world. There is this one  gift of life   where one should feel just as they do, instead of what others want them to.  What is forced or toxic positivity?   Forced positivity is the thought that people dealing with a disease need to continually portray themselves in an optimistic mood or light, and that thinking “on the bright side” will help with the hurt. This is awfully common on social media where people are anticipated to only show the good side of their lives.   The term 'toxic positivity' refers to the idea that focusing on the alleged positive emotions and reject anything that may activate negative emotions is the right way to live a life.    The pressured feeling   This kind of feeling also depends on person to pe

Happiness and your Mental Health

Depression has affected more than 264 million people— yet it can be tough for some people who live with it to find the resources they want. Whether it’s a safe space to share your feelings anonymously, useful self-care methods, or the latest in mental health research, you should know that you aren’t alone. It’s a  better world  when everyone is in it together, fighting away.  Your happiness depends on your mental health. No amount of material gains will satiate it. Money is a temporary object for fulfilling happiness, but real mental health is finding contentment within no matter what the circumstances stand. Your  future   and your past are not there, the only thing is the present.  Eradicating mental health issues such as anxiety and depression would raise happiness by 20%, whereas eliminating poverty would boost happiness quotient by only 5%. In other words, handling your mental health problems would be four times more helpful at increasing happiness than dropping the poverty
